Google Sites as Collaborative Projects

March 4th - 6th

Do you like the idea of a collaborative website or wiki but don't want to create another account and use another program? Use Google Sites as a wiki! Create a project website; by enabling page level permissions and assigning specific pages for specific groups / students you can control editing access to group pages, and remove all editing rights at the conclusion of the project to keep the site as an artifact for the future.

Online Quizzes and Polling

February 25-27

Socrative is a free online quiz program that allows students to use netbooks, chromebooks or other mobile devices in place of clickers. It can even be used with their phone!

Poll Everywhere and Easy Poll
Are you curious about what your students are thinking on a particular subject? There are online polling apps that allow your students to answer in real time using their phones or chromebooks and see the responses live on the web!

Automating Data Collection with Google Forms & Spreadsheets

February 11th, 12th & 13

Automate data collection with scripts - Doctopus and  Autocrat:
You have your Google form; you have your data; now what?   Use Autocrat to mail merge and have an email message sent out automatically. Doctopus helps manage and share documents. Create a folder with a template document and a spreadsheet roster, run the script and documents will be shared individually with students, named properly and filed in a folder. No more annoying emails alerting you that students shared their document with you!
